Celotex is a by product of sugar cane that is left over after you process to sugar,similar to a rice paper. Artschwager was interested in the way the paper manipulated the drawing in which he created many studies based upon this concepulaization.

Artschwager was interested in the way destruction themed a painting. By breaking up the composition with metal frame somehow they disconnect from one another.
