My name is Kelsey, I’m 26, and I am a 2016 graduate of the MCRP program. I am a planner at a local landscape architecture firm, and live in a wonderful house in Jefferson Westside. My current housemate is moving, and I will have availability in the second bedroom around August 15th, although I can be flexible on move-in date (as late as September). The house is a 6 minute bike ride from downtown, a 10 minute bike ride from campus, and is managed by a private landlord. The lease does not allow pets or indoor smoking, but the house comes with a lot of amazing perks:
-Month to month lease
-(Shared) Bathroom with tub
-Mudroom for bike storage
-All wood floors
-Heat pump with AC (very economical to run)
-Newer appliances: oven with gas range and large fridge
-French doors leading to small deck with landscaped backyard
-Small craft room
-Large attic storage space (can fit boxes, bikes, snowboards, etc.)
-Half of an outdoor shed for additional storage
The house is a little under 1,000 square feet, so would be best for one person (no couples). With everything included (utilities, Internet, water, gas), rent averages around $575 a month (but could reach up to $600 in the winter). I would love to find someone to share this place as opposed to my moving out, as the price is a total steal for all the amenities!
About me: I work full time, and spend most of my free hours cooking, reading, knitting, going to the gym, painting, watching/listening to true crime documentaries/podcasts, cleaning/organizing, and talking about pop culture. I also volunteer as a commissioner for the City of Eugene’s Sustainability Commission, so enjoy long thoughtful conversations about how to solve the world’s problems. I have a partner in Washington and he visits about once a month on a weekend, but other than that I don’t have people over.
What I hope to find in a roommate: Clean, organized person with good communication and a sense of humor. I’m an extrovert out in the world, but see my home as my safe space to relax and decompress without a lot of chaos, and I’d like to find someone who feels the same. I am a quiet night owl, so would rarely be in your way if you’re an early-riser. Overall it would be great to have laid-back person to chat with after work who can help share in basic chores and contribute to a relaxing, warm environment.
Photos are below; the available bedroom will be empty, but comes with a built-in armoire. If you’re interested, feel free to email me! Kelsey Zlevor <firstname.lastname@example.org>
The Janet Smith Co-Op house includes up to 17 mainly graduate students and non-traditional undergrads. We are focused on providing a safer space for students of color, international students, gender non-conforming, and LGTBQIA+ students to thrive. Our diverse co-opers are passionate about social justice and come from a variety of graduate programs.
Several single rooms are available for summer and fall move-in dates. We prefer students who will stay for an entire academic year but also provide shorter month-to-month leases. We currently have 15 students, two small dogs and a cat. The Student’s Cooperative Association also has two mainly undergraduate houses located near the UO Education buildings. All students must be able to verify class enrollment.
We are a vegan / vegetarian friendly house and make an effort to provide healthy, organic food to our members. Our house has a social justice library, endless craft supplies, piano, beautiful outdoor space, and a sauna. All Janet Smithers have their own single rooms with access to furniture if desired. Janet Smithers contribute around six hours of work a week cooking, cleaning, or gardening to keep our co-op running smoothly. House decisions are made through consensus at our weekly house meetings. We compost, recycle, and always try to buy eco-friendly house products. Housemates prepare six weekly vegan house dinners in our newly renovated kitchen and we eat family-style around our giant dining room table. After dinner, we love to watch movies on our projector, hang out on our porch, or have quiet study parties.
Come over for dinner and learn more about us.

We are a group of three landscape architecture students looking for folks to sublease our beloved, well-cared for house this summer starting June 15th through September 15. The property is near Sundance Grocery (.25 mile), Hendricks Park (1 mile) and the historic Masonic Cemetery (.1 mile). 25 minute pleasant neighborhood walk to campus, ten minute bike ride. Also near Pre’s Trail and Amazon Park.
Surrounding neighbors are mostly owners, good community, quiet vibe. No parties.
The property is managed by a kind couple who provide maintenance. Any subleasers must file anapplication.
*We are looking for students in the Design College and are cognizant of providing a pleasant living environment for all tenants. We reserve the right to add more tenants to the lease (max 3) and rent would be reduced accordingly for additional tenants.
