I’m passionate about science communication and education, specifically for students K-12. I believe that we all have the power to spark fascination and instill a sense of belonging in younger people. As such, I focus on not only helping educate students about volcanoes, earthquake safety, and geology in general, but by also providing tools and resources for ways to follow a path through STEM. For middle and high school students, this includes focusing on explaining the types of colleges available, ways to gain scholarships, how to get paid for internships and research, and general advice on succeeding through the difficulties of higher education. Find me as part of the “Skype a Scientist” project or feel free to reach out if you’d like for me to visit your classroom in-person or virtually.
