Bio

Florin Gheorghiu is a visual artist who graduated in 2002 at the University of Fine Arts from Iasi. He is an arts teacher at a primary school in Targu Jiu, while, at the same time, managing, together with his wife, their own workshop. He specializes in religious art, focusing on the meeting point between art, theology and Romanian traditional life, having painted various churches from different Romanian areas. Florin paints on wood, glass, and fresco in the traditional Byzantine style. He also creates religious objects through the technique of wood carving, using symbols and patterns full of meanings in Romanian tradition. Furthermore, Florin participated in many Fine Arts creation camps (Romania, Austria, Greece, Bulgaria) and displayed his works in museums, art galleries in Targu Jiu, Bucharest, Ramnicu Valcea, Barlad, etc.
