In my high school period, I often wear the school uniform when I go to school. I think the advantage of wear the uniform is that it can foster our sense of belonging and reduce the comparing between students. In the normal time, I wear the causal clothing. A sneaker, a top and jean are my usually dressing. I wear the clothing, which is comfortable for me. Nowadays, I’m in colleague now, I still wear the causal style clothing when I go to colleague. As for me, I consider that student should have a student look. What I mean student look is the backpack choose for packing your book, your shoe is comfortable for you to wear in a classroom or run in a campus, and the clothe can show a youth and active feel to other people. Student should focus on their study and comfortable clothing is good for student. So, usually I wear a t-shirt and jean when I go to school. Also, my backpack is simply blue bag, which can easily carry different size book and my pc.

Honestly, I’ m not very care about the fashion before. However, when I am in college, I need to dress up for my business professional presentation sometime. I would wear my black suit and a high heel. I also use a beautiful rubber band to band my hair. I would like to show a neat and refreshing image to my audience. I believe that first impression is very important and a good image can gain other people’s favor. Since I would graduate soon, I start to pay attention to my dress and buy some “mature” clothing. As I mention before, first impression is important. In some extent, people’s dressing can show their attitude and personality. I tend to buy the professional clothing now. I think the mature clothing can let other people know I am an adult now and I am independently enough. In the past time, I always wear very casual, but I dress up more ladies and formal right now.

I also become interesting in the make up thing now. When I have a presentation, I need to do a light make up. The light make up can enhance my whole image. Wearing a make up can cover the little flaw and also can show a respect to other people. I believe that no one like a sluttish image. When I go to party, I would choose a beautiful short dress. Because I am not that tall, short dress can cover my height. A delicate make up is important for a party and I would wear a different make up base on the type of party. I think make up is the way to enhance personal external charm. So, according to different occasion, I would wear different make up and clothing. I am happy to be a female because female can wear various type clothing, make up and other body adornment to show the personal external charm.

People can easily affect by acquaintance or family. I am the one affected by my family. My family likes to dress positive. More specific, they dress normal and positive. I know some people like to dress special to show personal character. However, my family and I would not to do that. I am not the one want to be special and the one pursue the fashion. My family allows doing piercing but not a tattoo. They think tattoo would hurt people’s body and tattoo is not elegant. Also, the person who has a tattoo would affect the evaluating of other people and give a bad impression to other people. I also think that tattoo is not good for my. My whole family doesn’t like the tattoo. Furthermore, my family think that when you to meet elder, you should wear a formal and comfortable clothing to show your respect. Therefore, every time I went to my grandparent’s house, I would wear a formal dress and a bright color dress. A bright color dress can show a youthful and positive image.

Because every people have own perspective, it’s hard to say a core beliefs and values of peer community. In my peer community, some people pursue the fashion and would dress very fashion in campus. They wear a high heel and a brand bag. They like to dress beauty. Other people, like me, pursue the comfortable. We wear very casual in the normal time. I don’t like dress up when I go to school. I am such a lazy girl.

I am siting at the Starbucks that near the campus and start my watching. I am looking at a male barista. A white guy and looks like around 25. He is making a median cup of coffee. He looks like work for here for a long time and familiar with everything. Just a few minutes, he was already served four people. He got a piercing and not tattoos or scares. Also, he is very slim comparing to average man shape and wear a white T-shirt on top and a Starbucks’s logo apron. I think he may be not go to gym often, because he does not have any muscle. He is so quite when making the coffee, but he show a warm smile when call out a customer’s name. I think he is a nice guy and might get a pretty good academic degree. I remember that I have read an online report a long time ago. The report said that there are a bunch of people work in a normal job even he/she got a high academic degree from school. The report points out a view that American people might study for own interesting and not just for chasing a degree certificate. So, many American people might work in a normal job position with a master degree or higher. That’s a little different with china. In the past, Chinese people with a good degree of education tend to pursue a high-income job. As for me, I also study hard for my future high-income job.

In this time, an old man, around 50 years old, carries a blue folder and wears a suit come in. He orders an ice latte with 4-ice cue and non-fat milk. He is kind of special people because of his order and he is elegant people because of his well dressed. An old man wears a suit and buys a coffee in a school nearby café. I think he is a professor of university. He also wears a black glass and has a white goatee and with short hair, but he look fit and youthful. I think he care about his health a lot and might have a regular exercise planning. That’s why can keep him looks like so healthy. He keeps smiling when talking with the server. I think he is an easygoing person and conversable person. I would like a friend like his age; he must get a lot life experience to share with me.

The last person is a homeless girl. She holding a board and has a word “please give me a penny” on it. She is wearing an old jean and a dirty simple t-shirt siting on the corner of the road. I think she is not very care the fashion. Also, she has a big grey backpack and I think that is all her belonging. If a car goes by, she will rock the board. She got a big piercing and a long red hair. A big dog sits near her and a couple of homeless people are talking to each other near her. I think they know each other and they might take turn to “earn money”. The girl looks so young and she might be just about 25. That makes me curious about why she become a homeless? In my point of view, American citizen have a pretty good public welfare, she might be able to get some minimum subsistence allowance for her living expense. Moreover, she is in such a young age. Why she can’t find a job to support her life? I think she may be just like live in this way or she might just in a down period right now. I assume if this is a down period for her, she can be all right soon.
