In the reading, there is a lot of discussion about how technology and digital art has improved or enhanced the art we already had.  Technology also changed our ideas of what art can be.  My question is, “How will technology continue to develop and change our ideas of what art can be?”  I imagine that in the future, there will be a lot of new concepts that we can’t even dream of yet.  Just 25 years ago, computer graphics were painfully simple.  I don’t think anyone thought they could get to where they are today.  In another 25 years, I think that anything is possible.

  1. I think you bring up a really interesting question of what the future of art will be given all the technological advancements occurring not only now but down the road. Art used to be something simply seen on a canvas, yet now art comes in a multitude of mediums. In the future, I could envision art becoming an all encompassing experience, where not only is it an exhibit but maybe art will turn into a three dimensional experience. With the virtual world becoming even more expansive, such as what’s being stored online or in the cloud, physical objects are becoming a thing of the past and I bet art will being to transform in the same way.

  2. You make a good point about art moving away from being physical. Maybe one day art exhibits will be displayed on screens. I have already seen projected art rooms before in exhibits, which was really cool, but it makes me wonder if physical paintings or prints will become a thing of the past. Especially if art in exhibits turns towards animations or art with moving parts. It could also include interaction. It would be very different from what it is now, but it could be interesting to see.
