Purposes:

-Discuss the validity of art created with the aid of machines

Original Post:

As Jones mentions, the primary thesis of “Computer Graphics: Effects of Origins ”is to establish the relationship of specific image, object, event or environment to conceptual frames, and these frames exist within art and technology and are present in other forms of symbolic and material culture. (51). Also, she believes that old form of cultural contribute to maintenance new forms of art and technology (51).

In Jones example, in the 1940s analogue computers were used to generate the earliest computer graphics and display them on oscilloscopes (52). By looking at this idea, we can see that old form of cultural influence new technology in some ways. New technology has developed more advanced on original basis. At present, we got iPhone, iPod, iPad and so on, all of those are technical products. In the past, mobile phone is only with a black- and –white display and cannot take photos and videos. But for now, we can use mobile phone to take videos or photos, and use Internet by phone. And many companies are developing HD screen. The So technology is developed based on the past pattern. Also, computer graphics makes our life better. And computer graphics exists everywhere. For example, Ltd screen, electrical advertisement screen. And we are always surprised by the 3D games and 3D movies.

Reflection:

As we all know, technology plays an important role in our daily life. And computer graphics is the basis of some technology. Like TV or computer screen, LTD, and so on. Just like Jones states, “the primary thesis of “Computer Graphics: Effects of Origins ”is to establish the relationship of specific image, object, event or environment to conceptual frames, and these frames exist within art and technology and are present in other forms of symbolic and material culture”(51). By looking at this idea, we can see technology exists everywhere. And it’s true that, we cannot live without technology. For example, if we do not have mobile phone, how to contact other efficient. Someone may say, we can write letter, but it’s too cost time. For now, mobile phone is not just a phone; it can be used in different ways. We can take videos or take pictures by phone or play mobile games on phone. Moreover, some advanced with high pixel, like IPhone, which provide high quality pictures.

Next, technology is changing our life gradually. Let’s take Google Glass as an example. The above picture is a Google glass.  Google glass is a new technology product. Google glass can take pictures by voice control; also it can process information or send e-mail and so on. So the Google glass is very powerful. It developed based on past technology skills. From this example, we can see that technology is innovating continuously.

Future:

In simple words, we cannot live better without technology. And I have lots interests on technology. I would like to try different new technology. Technology will be developed better. For now, we can use phone to order foods or make reservations etc. In the future, I believe there must be more functions on phone.
