We know that this is a very difficult time for many of you and we are dedicated to ensuring your academic success. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your instructors or our department at for assistance. We will also list some key student resources below.


Financial Resources

who have incurred expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus. Students in need are encouraged to apply.

Examples of eligible expenses include medical, food, housing, utility, and technology expenses; relocation costs to return home; unexpected childcare; course materials; and other unexpected expenses.

  • Students in Crisis Fund: Fill out the application stating need (food, housing, utilities, phone bill, etc.) online intake form, you may be eligible to receive financial support from the Students in Crisis Fund. Once you complete our intake form, a Dean of Students staff member will follow up with you within a few days to discuss your situation.   • Basic needs blog
  • LGBTQIA+ Emergency Fund: Similarly, fill out the application stating need. The student does not need to have a set identity to apply for this fund. This application will reach someone quicker and can be directed to Students in Crisis Fund.
  • Graduate Student Assistance Fund

Crisis and Survivor Support:

  • University Counseling Services call (541-346-3227) and schedule an appointment to get additional support. Free and confidential.
  • SAFE Line for students needing survivor support. This will always reach a person, and they can set a student up with emergency housing: 541-346-SAFE. If you are the survivor of sexual harassment (including sexual assault, dating or domestic violence, gender-based harassment or bullying, and stalking) and someone has harmed you, it’s not your fault.
  • Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) is dedicated to supporting Lane County survivors of sexual violence. The 24/7 Crisis and Support Hotline is always available to survivors, their partners, and their families; the hotline can be reached at 541-343-7277 or toll free at 844-404-7700.
  • Non-UO crisis support. Whitebird Crisis – this is a 24 hour help line not affiliated with UO. You can speak to a crisis counselor and find out more about resources: 541-687-4000

Accessible Education Center:

  • Students working with the Accessible Education Center (AEC) are encouraged to contact them with questions about disability related access and accommodations, or to schedule a remote appointment by phone (541) 346-1155, email uoaec@uoregon.edu or via an online form. Information related to accessibility issues will be updated regularly.
  • The AEC Accessible Technology program is also available to students with questions about assistive technologies and accessible course formats via altformat@uoregon.edu.

  • We have temporarily waived the WGSS departmental maximum credits for Pass/No pass classes. For Winter 2020, Spring 2020, Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 terms, all WGSS students may choose the Pass/No Pass (P/NP) grading option for any of their major courses. Under this grading option, a “P” grade will be recorded for a C- or above, and an NP grade will be recorded for a D+ or below.

Duck Rides is the University of Oregon’s brand new student transportation service in response to COVID-19. Duck Rides is a partnership of the student ride services you know and love. Student workers and leadership from Safe Ride, DDS and Campus Shuttle are working together to continue providing safe, accessible and inclusive rides for the UO community.
