Meeting Tonight Canceled.

The Japanese Student Organization will be canceling this week’s meeting to show solidarity with the Take Back the Night Movement. Take Back the Night is an international event and non-profit organization with the mission of ending sexual violence in all forms. Hundreds of events are held in over 30 countries annually. Events often include marches, rallies and vigils intended as a protest and direct action against rape and other forms of sexual violence. In 2001, a group of women who had participated in the earliest Take Back The Night marches, came together to form the Take Back The Night Foundation in support of the events throughout the United States and the world. This year, the ASUO Women’s Center and Sexual Assault Support Service of Lane Country will present Lane Country’s 36th annual Take Back the Night. The rally begins at 6:00pm in the EMU Amphitheater at 13th and University, followed by a march from the UO campus to LCC’S Titan Court (975 Charnelton St.). Speak-Out begins at 8:30pm in Titan Court. It will be a safe space for all who wish to attend, with support services made available by SASS. It is a free event. Accessibility access will be provided. Thank you all for understanding the importance of this event in our community and JSO’s desire to show our support. We will still be watching “Our Neighbors the Yamadas,” but switching the movie schedule so that it replaces the showing of “Sukiyaki Western Django.”

Take Back the Nightというイベントを支援を示すために、今週のJSOミーティングは中止にされました。 Take Back the Nightとは、セクハラ、レイプがなくなるようとして、国際的なイベントということです。毎年、30国々以上でこのイベントします。すべてのセクハラ、 レイプに抗議するために、様々のことをイベントに含まれます。このイベントを支援するために、2001年にTake Back the Night Foundationというグループを作られました。 今年、オレゴン大学のASUO Women’s CenterとSexual Assault Support Service of Lane Countryというグループは、ユージンのTake Back the Nightをします。イベントはEMUのAMPHITHEATER(13th and University St.)で、6時から始まって、LLCのTitan Court(975 Charnelton St)までに、マーチをするつもりです。その後、Speak-Outというオーペンマイクのイベントは、Titan Courtで、8時半から始まります。 誰でも来てもいいです。実際に、誰でも来て下さい。ただなイベントで、車椅子を使う人も来ることができます。 皆さんは、ユージンのコミュニティで、このイベントの大切さをわかってくれてありがとうございます。そして、なぜJSOは支援したいことも、わかってあり がとうございます。 Sukiyaki Western Djangoという映画の代わりに、後でOur Neighbors the Yamadasを観るつもりです。
