Dear Colleagues,
The annual meeting of the Northwest Chapter of the Society for Ethnomusicology (SEM NW) will be held on February 28, 2026, at the University of Oregon in Eugene. We are hoping for a robust meeting that includes a roundtable with a regional perspective on the current state of the field.

Please consider submitting a paper, panel, roundtable, or other type of presentation and share this message with students or other colleagues who may be interested in presenting. Those who may have difficulty traveling because of the international border situation should contact the organizer for virtual options.

Abstracts should be 250 words or less. Generally, they should clarify the focus of the presentation and what argument is being made. There should be a clear relationship to previous scholarship and a description of the work’s significance to music-dance/sound-movement studies. Please reach out if this format does not accommodate your idea.
