The Discourse Lab is a part of the Department of Linguistics at the University of Oregon.  We primarily investigate the role of co-speech gesture with particular emphasis on gestural interaction between speaker and listener and the role of gesture in speech production. The ultimate goal of this research is to develop a more complete view of language production and perception which includes all participants and speech/gesture modalities.
