The aggressive and seemingly insecure actions taken by the corporate behemoths that are in control of the of mainstream media to remove Copyrighted content from the internet seem extreme to many users. As explained by Lessig, the response to this aggression is the opposite extreme: complete disregard of Copyright laws. As torrent sites continue to grow, it becomes clear that black markets will always will always exist (especially in response to overly aggressive persecution).
If you were a part of the group that fights to protect intellectual property rights, what would you do differently than what is currently taking place?
Hi Stephanie, I think that the technology can be enhanced to increase the intellectual property rights. If the internet can be enhanced and accessed everywhere with decent speed, everything can be saved on the cloud and the download function can be cancelled which could possibly increase the protection of intellectual property rights. The idea is coming from some company which they are going to do this to protect their games to be hacked, they provide new update package which increase the security of customer and the company. Considering the example above, music, video, and some of them can update their players, music and more related software to strengthen the intellectual property rights.
