Hello, my name is Boston! This is my first blog post! I created this blog to use as a creative outlet where I can post about fashion, crafts, and more. My mom had a blog when I was growing up so I have always loved reading blogs about all types of topics. I am excited to see how I use it as I grow in my writing and creativity.
This first post is, as you can probably guess from the title, about what I would wear in the big apple (AKA New York). There’s a phrase online that goes something like, “This is an outfit meant for New York.” Meaning someone might wear a creative outfit in their small town but no one understands it in the same way if they wore it in New York. The city is a whole aesthetic that adds to the outfit in a way a small town simply can’t.
New York has a long history with ballet and I tried my best at representing that history in an outfit that is still casual enough to wear while walking 50 blocks.
Okay we are done with the first look. Now let’s move on to an outfit that encapsulates that masculine feel a little more.
Right off the bat, this outfit is more boxy than the last. I love the feminine touch in pairing an outfit with Nicole Saldana ballet flats.
Now that we are done with our daytime outfits let’s get to the night. Because this city never sleeps!
I imagine myself wearing this outfit while shopping to get my apartment ready for a new years eve party. I love the matching of colors and clashing of textures in this outfit.
Now this last collage isn’t as much an outfit, but more of an aesthetic mood board of being out in New York at night.
From the takeout on the fire escapes (a staple of New York culture says TikTok and Pinterest) to the lipstick mark on the mirror, to the fur coat and Polaroid. Now this does not have to be how everyone views New York but it’s what I’ve collected from the internet’s New York aesthetic staples.
