Hi! I’m Olivia Curran, I am from Junction City, Oregon, which is just 20 miles north of Eugene. I am currently a junior in the Educational Foundations program at the UO with a desire to teach in grades 2-4. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in science, I plan on attending UO Teach. I have always wanted to be a teacher because of my passion for education and love for children. My goal is to create a positive classroom environment for ALL students by utilizing inclusive curriculum and by taking the time to listen to individual student needs.
Hi! I’m Gaby Mendez, I am from Milwaukie Oregon. I am a junior in the Education Foundations major at the University of Oregon with dreams of teaching third grade. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree through the University of Oregon I plan to seek my Masters degree at Portland State University. My mom is a preschool teacher which inspired me to seek a degree in teaching. I aspire to create a diverse, friendly community in my future classroom!
Hi! I’m Lexi Burch, born and raised here in good ol’ Eugene Oregon. I’m a junior in the Educational Foundations major with hopes to teach second grade. After earning my Bachelor’s degree through the UO I plan to head east and pursue my Master’s degree at OSU Cascades in Bend, Oregon. Ever since I was young there was something in me calling me to teach but for a short while in high school I had been considering nursing because I oddly love hospitals, but I hate needles; do you se the struggle? To me, the money makes no difference, I believe it’s the happiness one will attain from their career that matters most and I know that being an educator will fill my hart like no other career could.
Hi! I’m Tia Thomas and Iam from Auburn, Washington. I am a junior in the Education Foundations major at the University of Oregon. I am also currently on the Acrobatics and Tumbling team at Oregon. Being a student athlete has taught me a great deal of leadership. With this background I hope to incorporate it into my passion for teaching. My passion is working with kids. I have always known I wanted to work with kids and after watching my mom teach kindergarten I started to look into teaching. After being in multiple different grade levels I have found that my passion is to teach grade levels between kindergarten through second grade. After I graduate I hope to attend Hawaii Pacific University to get my Masters in Elementary Education.
Hi! I’m Ellie Solem, I am from McMinnville Oregon, a small town outside of Portland. My hope after I get my undergraduate and master degree is to teach middle school history somewhere in the PNW. Both my parents are educators which is how I got interested in being a teacher. I hope to inspire and engage my students in the classroom as well as their potential to achieve their life aspirations.
