Course Instructor

Originally from Northeast China, Haisu earned a Bachelor’s degree in English with a focus on technological translation. After a short lived translator’s position at a Chinese fire extinguisher manufacturing company, she took on the English language teaching journey in three Chinese public universities for 12 years. With two master degrees in Creative Writing and Sociology, Haisu is currently completing her Sociology PhD dissertation at the University of Oregon, with a working title “An Ethnographic Study of the Holiday Farm Fire Disaster and the Survivors’ Well-Being.

Haisu created the Sociology of Well-Being course in her Teaching of Social Science graduate seminar taught by Dr. Jocelyn Hollander.
