Flying over the past and paths of Mammoths

Fossil Lake Woolly Mammoth Tracks

Not everyone knows that the Price Science Library has a UAV to loan out for research purposes.  Last year we used it to create 3D models of a set of woolly mammoth tracks found in the area of Fossil Lake, Oregon.  Here is our research paper.  The Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History also hosted a new exhibit on mammoths and we created a promotional video to highlight the find.  Thanks go out to the Sandal Society for funding.  A University of Oregon report on the find is posted here and our video is this link on YouTube.
