We’re in! New furniture arrived last week and Science Library staff moved into their new offices!
The CIS department room computer tables and computers have been installed as have the tables and computers in the drop-in computer lab.
Open study area tables and chairs, and lounge-type furniture have arrived and has been distributed throughout the library.
We closed the library Friday-Sunday as we moved from the old circulation desk in the Science Library to the new circulation desk in the PSC. The counter top in the picture below is temporary. The final counter top and sides of the new desk will be installed soon.
The scaffolding has been taken down and now the zebrafish DNA sunscreen is visible.
The temporary walls for phase III have come down and the temporary walls for phase IV are now in place. Spaces build in phase IV will be our two new classrooms as well as a second drop-in computer area. Phase IV will be completed by the time school resumes in September. We are already fielding reservations for the classrooms.
A lot still needs to be done including outfitting the visualization lab and makerspace, installing glass along the grand staircase and near the north and south doors upstairs, and installing the reference shelving. The café should open sometime during the last week of July.
We will re-open to the public first thing on Monday morning! If you get a chance, please stop by to see our new space.
