The grand opening of the Allan Price Science Commons & Research Library is one week away.   Thanks to the heroic work of the Andersen construction team, the facility will be ready for its big debut.  The furniture is in, the cafe is up and running, the artwork honoring Allan Price is installed, the classrooms are booked for classes, the Viz Lab is coming online, the MakerSpace is stocked and ready for action.    It’s hard to believe but the renovation and expansion project is coming to a close.

Accordingly, this will be the final entry in the blog so carefully curated by Margaret
Bean through the process.   What remains is to invite you, the reader, to come and see for yourself.  Opsis Architecture, Andersen Construction, the UO  Campus Planning Design and Construction group, all the users who provided feedback and especially the staff in the science library … all of you deserve a huge round of applause.   Special thanks go out to the following individuals without whom this monumental undertaking would not have been possible:

  • Chris Roberts, Opsis
  • Denise Stewart, UO
  • Gene Mowery, UO
  • Ashlee Blessing, Andersen
  • Dan Bott, Andersen
  • Dustin Sievers, OSU (formerly Andersen)
  • Margaret Bean, UO (retired)
  • Lara Nesselroad, UO
  • Duncan Barth, UO
  • Scott Roshak, UO
  • DJ Wyrick, UO

Until I have the pleasure of meetinig you in person, this is Mark Watson signing off!
