The Price Science Commons construction project will begin on Monday, December 15, and should take about one year. The Science Library, including the circulation desk, will remain open to patrons during construction. We will continue to circulate books, reserve materials, laptops, video games/video game consoles, and other materials. Science Library staff will also remain in the library during construction and will work from temporary cubicles that will be built in the open area behind the current circulation desk. A temporary circulation desk will be built just south of the current desk. We will also have some limited study space for students. At this time we are investigating other potential study areas close to the Science Library.

Prior to Phase 1, library books will be moved from the west side of the library to the east side. During Phase 1, the temporary offices will be constructed and should be finished by January 5 in time for beginning of the winter term. Once staff are settled into our new work area, Phase 2 will begin with the demolition and remodeling of our former office area and the old book shelving area. This phase of the project will take until mid-April, 2015. Once the new book area is complete the books will be moved back to the west side of the library. Books will remain accessible to patrons during all phases of construction.
