Welcome to my ePortfolio
Introduction
About Me
Hello! My name is Sarah Fisher and I live in Eugene, OR. I moved here from Hazleton, PA, in 2015 with my husband of 18 years and our four children. We also have four cats! As a family, we enjoy hiking, bouldering, gardening, attending concerts, and watching movies. My husband and I enjoy producing local concerts with a motivation that is driven by the love of music and dancing. Currently, I play keys in a Grateful Dead cover band, Strangers In Places.
My educational background is diverse:
- AS Business Administration (Penn State)
- BA English Literature and History (University of Maryland)
- MA Folklore and Museum Studies (University of Oregon)
- MLIS Library and Information Science (San Jose State University)
Career Motivation
I currently work as the Folklore Archivist Collection Coordinator at the Randall V. Mills Archives of Northwest Folklore (RVMA), which is housed in the Folklore program at the University of Oregon (UO). During my first graduate program, I worked as a student archivist in the Folklore Archives. I also completed an internship under the audio archivist in Special Collections University Archives (SCUA) in the UO’s Knight Library. This past fall, I was a Gladys Krieble Delmas fellow under the SCUA Director, working on the creation of a graduate level course concerning rare book acquisition. I have also completed internships at the Oregon Folklife Network, working on marketing, web site optimization, and grant writing; and I have taught composition courses at the UO. Furthermore, I have completed language study in French, Old English, and Ancient Greek.

EPortfolio Organization and Structure
My adventures in library school are outlined in this ePortfolio, exhibiting the Core Competencies as described by the iSchool at SJSU. Each Competency (A-O) is discussed and includes the incorporation of evidence that cites my proficiency in each area, followed by a Conclusion and an Affirmation. Evidence was compiled through coursework and work related activities from the last two years (2020-2022). This ePortfolio was created using WordPress through my account at the UO. It was password protected until I received confirmation from iSchool faculty that I can publicly display my work, following the guidelines of SJSU as outlined in the Affirmation. This ePortfolio is a testament to my accomplishments and achievements related to library and information science.
