I am a political and cultural geographer focusing on Iran, Kurdish issue, and the Middle East. Currently, I’m a PhD candidate in the Geography Department at the University of Oregon. My research interests include territory, contentious politics, and media; borders and state violence; authoritarian politics; language; positionality and qualitative methods. I hold two master’s degrees. Prior to starting my PhD, I did my second M.A. in geography at Miami University, Ohio. Before that, I did my first M.A. in political geography at University of Tehran, Iran. For my undergraduate, I studied physical geography at Shahid Beheshty University, Tehran, Iran.
