Disney for Dayz

There were a couple of interesting things to notice after plugging the data into the google data sheets. One is that coporate offices had the highest profit in customer segment while furniture had lowest profits in product category. This is true in the fact that furniture is really not in demand because we are not going to buy a new couch every year. And coperate offices need the most supplies such as pencils, paper, computors, etc. so it make senses that they have the highest profits. In order to make more money, we should focus on the coporate orders and focus less on furniture orders.

Sticking to the theme of this blog we decided to look into the Walt Disney World Company. Some of their principles that live by creating entire news ways to move audiences around the world. They are really passionate on delivering unforgettable experiences and they keep on looking for new ways to enhance those experiences. We found a job on Indeed and the job title is “Business Analyst Specialist” located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The purpose of the job stated to see of how technology is leveraged in the Parks an Resorts

Responsibilities

This business analyst position reports to the technology team and will be responsible for both project planning: validation of monthly financial schedules, aligning project delivery with the businesses technology and business strategies, partnering to identify innovative technologies in the marketplace and adjust schedules for unplanned and pull forward work and project delivery: user story development, gap analysis, risk mitigation, stakeholder analysis, business rule development, dependency mapping, user acceptance testing.

Basic Qualifications:

-Minimum 4 years business analyst experience or equivalent
-Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
-Demonstrated strong partnering, negotiating and consensus building skills
-Demonstrated strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills as well as facilitation experience
-Demonstrated experience in business analysis on large complex projects or varying project types
-Demonstrated experience in eliciting, documenting and managing requirements over the Life Cycle.
-Demonstrate knowledge of Agile Methodologies including the writing of User Stories, involvement in SCRUM/KANBAN/LEAN, and project planning at a sprint and iteration level.
-Demonstrated proficiency in basic office productivity software and tools (MS Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

After reviewing the job post, we went on Glassdoor to look at some reviews from past employees. Most pros include the benefits that came with the job at Disney and the most stated benefit was the ability to get into Disney for free. The only major con that we saw was that most people said the hours they got were very bad to the schedule they wanted. But overall, the Walt Disney Company stood by their values and beliefs. As a group, we decided that we love to work for Disney and it seems like a good company to work for.

What we changed:
We first changed our text boxes so that to add to our disney themed blog with one of the most famous sayings in Disney. We tweaked the colors a little bit, and we changed the margins so that they are stacked on top of each other. The last things we did was change the font to ubuntu because we thought that was a cool name for a font and we added a disneyland picture at the bottom of the page

There are a couple of ways that we can improve our airline service. One is that we can limit weight on checked baggage. This way we can save money on fuel because the more weight on the plane, the more fuel it burns. Another thing that we could possibly do is restrict the number of bags brought on the plane which will also cut down the weight of the plane. Another possiblity is we could speed up the boarding process by having them line from the back of the plane to the front. This insures that the plane will not get backed up while boarding and therefore not causing a longer boarding time. Every second past departure time is money lost on a flight, so if we can keep the flow of boarding, then we can have a speedy boarding time and not lose money.

We decided to put our spa in St. Louis Missouri along two very populated streets in North Kingshighway Boulevard and Delmar Boulevard. There were a lot of homes sold over 500,000 dollars and even 1 million dollars in this area which we found out using Zillow. Using a website called Experian we were about to use the target zip code of 63108 to find about 450 employees within multiply businesses. There were other great benefits in choosing this location including more upscale hotels like a four seasons hotel about 10 minutes away. There also two muesuems located about 4 miles away from our location making this an even more richer area to live in. In terms of leisure there are multiple golf courses located within 5 miles and what better way to have a round of golf and then a nice way to relax after your round at a spa. And finally, there are 3 colleges near our location in which the students can be tempted to spend their money at our spa after say like studying for finals.
