The largest Baekje-era cemetery in Seoul is located south of the Han river at Seokchon-dong, where stone platforms and earthen tumuli dot several city blocks. These are thought to be royal tombs from the later Hanseong period, but the identities of the individual occupants remains unknown. I took advantage of a little time off in Seoul to visit these impressive monuments, which are now towered over by a huge skyscraper built by the Lotte company.
