3rd Flock test

Doing weird things now.  I selected my BA352 site.  After the post, it took me there but it directed the post to my Faculty site.  Trying this again after deleting BA352 blog as an option from Flock.

I realize now that Flock will direct all blog posts, no matter which blog I choose on UfoliO, to the blog I used when setting up blogs in Flock.  I decided to use my faculty site (ufolio.uoregon.edu/ronbramhall) and then use tag feeds to feed those posts to other sites as I desire.  Not perfect, but it works.

FLock Test

Flock Test

I’m testing a feature in the Flock browser to blog directly from the browser.  I’m specifically testing the UfoliO configuration.  When I added one blog, all my UfoliO blogs got added.  So, I’m wondering if I post to one, will it automatically go to all (since the login is the same for all the blogs)?

I/NCEPR Research Project

As part of our UfoliO project, our team was accepted into the Inter/National Coalition for Electronic Portfolio Research as part of Cohort V.  Our Cohort project spans 2008-11.  We met with the Cohort in Denver this summer and focused on clarifying our research question and our research plan.  Since then, our project has stalled a bit but we are about to get back on track.  For my part of the project, I have been interested in whether digital learning environments, like our UfoliO WordPress Multiuser platform, can enhance the learning of professional skills (collaboration, professional communication) across the curriculum.  The research question at present is:

Does an experiential learning approach, deployed through a digital Personal Learning Environment framework, facilitate and enhance the learning and practice of professional skills across a curriculum?

We are now designing the research framework which will be applied to a cohort of 35 Business Honors students who began their program in the Fall of 2009.

Wiggio

For this course, you will need to setup an online collaboration site for your team.  I have listed several options on the my Course Website in the right sidebar under “Collaboration”.  I was just informed of a new site by one of my students.  It’s called Wiggio and looks to be very useful and easy to use.  I include here a short video presentation about the site.  This presentation is a good example of clearly and simply conveying a message:

Eportfolio Experiment in a Leadership Development Class

This term I am experimenting with using WPMU as a platform for formative learning and demonstration of professional skills in a Business Leadership and Communication class.

At the beginning of the term, I sent them to this overview of eportfolios for the class.  I am now giving them these specific instructions for constructing their eportfolio.

They have been blogging all term and those are being captured in an aggregate blog.  As I read the blogs, it is clear to me that formative learning is happening through ongoing reflection.

I will be interested to see how they construct their eportfolios and what I am able to glean from those.
