In helping our students begin the transition from student to professional, I often preach to my students the importance of managing their digital identity – especially as it relates to the job search. I’ve pointed out to them that having kegmaster@yahoo.com as an email address or a voicemail message that says “Dude, we stayed up too late partying and can’t answer the phone” is probably a job search killer. They need to know that whenever they apply for a position, if they reach the later rounds of the process, they will be Googled.
