Here is a great opportunity to put your leadership development plan into real action by taking on leadership in a UO club.
The UO Toastmasters club is a member of toastmasters international, and provides an EXCELLENT way for people to learn to be better speakers and presenters, and also improve both leadership credentials and experience for their resume.
This is a student club…so it needs student leaders to make it work. This year they have had an unusual situation in that the officers elected last Spring are unable to serve their terms, and so they need a NUMBER OF LEADERS to step up.
They will elect new leaders before the end of October, and the positions to be filled are.
President; The president serves as the Club’s executive officer, responsible for general supervision and operation of the club.
Vice President education; Responsible for planning successful club meetings, and helping members reach their speaking and leadership goals.
Vice President Membership; Responsible for promoting the club and growing membership. Developing a promotional plan.
Secretary; Maintains accurate membership roster, and work with treasurer to prepare a budget. Keeps accurate meeting decisions.
Treasurer; Manages Club finances, prepares budgets, accomplishes payment of dues to International organization.
Sergeant at Arms; Maintains club equipment, prepares room for use, escorts new members to waiting areas while clubs vote on membership.
Webmaster; to manage, update and improve the clubs website.
They meet Tuesday nights at 275 Lillis this term, 7 PM.

The club has received many awards through the years, but really needs new dynamic student leaders at this time.
