Write and Implement a Backup Strategy

Include the following components:

• Your name
• The type of data that is most critical to you including the directories on your computer that store that data.
• The frequency of your backups
• What media and/or systems you will use to back up your data?
• What will you use as secondary redundant backups and how often will they be updated?
• Where will you store your redundant backup that is off-site from your computer, in case of fire, theft or other calamity?
• What steps will you need to take in order to restore your data when disaster strikes
• Date and time of your most recent backup
• A digital or hand drawn schematic of how it will work.

Be as explicit as possible. I want to know the details, directory names, service URLs, drive names, etc. Even though, I will look at this and I am assigning the work, this is for your benefit. It should be something you keep, update and refer to periodically. I want to be able to read this and get a sense of exactly how you will implement this plan and that you have a solid backup strategy in place.
