Data Science for Physicists – Eric Carlson (Career Seminar 04/27/2021)
As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Grand Rounds Health, Eric Carlson has worked on diverse models and infrastructure to improve clinical outcomes and eliminate waste in the US healthcare system. In the public sector, Eric led modeling efforts for CovidActNow.org, helping governments such the State of California and Department of Defense better understand the disease trajectory. He received a BS in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Oregon and a PhD in Theoretical Astroparticle Physics from UC Santa Cruz.
