In times of economic struggle, arts programs are often the first to receive budget cuts. Through my research this term, I’ve uncovered how the arts, specifically dance, are not simply an activity but a way through which we can understand ourselves and ultimately our world. Dance has the power to foster self-confidence, self-awareness, interpersonal connectivity, and cultural awareness. In this way, dance is not only something that benefits the individual, but it also has the power to bring people together and help them connect. With this in mind, it is essential to continue to support this art form!
