For Parents

Being a parent or caregiver of kids isn’t easy – but you are not alone.

You’re doing a hard and very important job – and it can be stressful. As parents, all of us sometimes need help. At other times, we’re in a position to give it.

Our goal is that wherever you live in Lane County, you and your family are supported, connected, and have what you need.

90by30 Resources

Welcome Baby

This gift to the newest members of the South, West, and East Lane communities provides carefully selected items, as well as a binder with local resources – all delivered by a caring community member. A safety kit, a book and toy, organic clothing, a handmade “tummy time” quilt, and a hand-knitted infant cap are just some of the items in the Welcome Baby Bundle. The Welcome Baby Bundle is completely free – just click here to find out if you live in a region served by the program.

“Thank all of you for everything you have done for my newly expanded little family. I am greatly impressed that this service is provided down here in the south end of the valley. I feel like these are the services and connections that need to be made.”

– Travis, father of baby Juniper

Roots of Empathy

This classroom-based program cultivates empathy in children in order to build more caring, peaceful, and civil societies. Through interactions with an infant and caregiver, and with the guidance of a Roots of Empathy Instructor, children learn to identify and understand the feelings of the baby, then their own feelings and those of others. 90by30 has partnered with Roots of Empathy to bring this program to 50 first- and second-grade classrooms in Lane County. As a Roots of Empathy family, your baby will be loved by every student and a star of the school. A trained Instructor will be by your side for every visit to help both you and the students get the most out of the experience.

Parent Cafés

The Parent Café program is a nationally recognized peer-to-peer learning process to keep children safe and families strong. Parents and caregivers create safe spaces to explore their strengths and learn from themselves and each other how to use the Strengthening Families Protective Factors with their loved ones. Child care is provided.
