Organized by Janet Wasko and Jeremy Swartz of the University of Oregon, this conference will question the nature of media and media studies. It is open to anyone from media professors to artists to the general public, and will “feature keynote speakers, roundtables, paper presentations, and special events in an attempt to answer questions about the ever-evolving nature of media,” as stated in their call for papers and proposals.
The conference will take place in Portland, OR from April 14-16, 2016. Visit the conference’s website for a list of topics that may be covered in submitted papers and presentations. The site also has a list of plenary participants, sponsors, and a description of the 2016 Johnston Lecture to be given by John Markoff of the New York Times.
