The NMCC Annual Lecture with Dr. Mike Ananny will be on Friday, February 8th. Dr. Ananny’s talk, co-sponsored by the UO School of Journalism and and Communication, is entitled “The New Press Freedom: journalism ethics, algorithmic technology, and public life.” It will be held fromĀ 4-5:30 in the Knight Browse Room on Friday, February 8th.
Mike Ananny is author of author of Networked Press Freedom: Creating Infrastructures for a Public Right to Hear (MIT PRESS 2018). He is an Associate Professor of Journalism and Communication at USC and is currently a fellow at Stanford’s Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences. He will speak about his recent work blending together free speech, media ethics, and issues of the ethics of algorithms and other technological systems.
