The Cleveland Metropolitan School District, in partnership with Cleveland’s Center for Arts- Inspired Learning, plans to open a new, first-of-its-kind digital arts high school, and seeks to hire immediately a Founding Head of School who is passionate about making an impact on the lives of Cleveland students. The Cleveland High School for Digital Arts promises to be a place where students and faculty immerse themselves in year round, project-based learning coupled with workplace internships, using the unique approach of integrating the digital arts with a college-preparatory curriculum. The Head of School will boldly imagine, shape, and launch an innovative high school that will open its doors in August 2014 to approximately 100 ninth grade students in a digitally equipped, open space design, downtown Cleveland location. The school will add a grade each year until it reaches capacity as a 9-12th grade school serving approximately 400 students.
This is an exceptional opportunity to invent a high school that offers a personalized and stimulating learning experience for students who will benefit from a strong interdisciplinary academic, digital arts infused program, connected to real world apprenticeship experiences. Using a mastery-based, experiential pedagogy, each CHSDA student will have an individualized learning plan and receive a laptop computer with access to high quality technology for the recording arts, film and game design. The Head of School will join the school design work with key support from district, foundation, school design, and community partners.
