Recently a new journal from the Fembot Collective was announced: Ada: A Journal of Gender, New Media and Technology. Via the Director of the Center for the Study of Women in Society:
Dear Colleagues,
The Fembot Collective is delighted to announce the launch of Ada: A Journal of Gender, New Media, and Technology. The inaugural issue, “Conversations Across the Fields,” features articles by: Anne Balsamo and Alex Juhasz, Mia Consalvo, Sarah Kember, Krista Geneviève Lynes, Vicki Mayer, Lisa Nakamura, Kim Sawchuk, and Carol Stabile. We invite you to read the articles at http://adanewmedia.org/.
Ada is the first open-access, open source, online feminist journal on new media and technology, featuring a public peer review system that will be implemented with the launch of our next issue on Feminist Game Studies in spring 2013.
Thanks to those of you who have provided support for this project over the past three years. We are particularly grateful to the UO Libraries, the School of Journalism and Communication (whose graduate students have been leaders in this effort) and the Center for the Study of Women in Society for their contributions to and tireless support of Ada!
We are excited to have this new journal part of our connections, especially as we begin the Graduate Certificate Program in New Media and Culture. Thank you Carol for sharing this wonderful resource.
