This piece focuses on the longevity of building a flamenco guitar. it’s a very time intensive process, and it’s clear that’s the message the producer is trying to convey. What tells this portion of the story is the use of the hour counter. As the video progresses, the hours increase, which shows the viewer just how long it takes to make a flamenco guitar.
What also aids the effective use of text in this piece is the shallow depth of field. By using a shallow depth of field, there’s enough room to design text around the action that’s occurring in the frame. There’s enough room, with relationship to the 16 X 9 aspect ratio, to incorporate text into the piece without covering up the action and motion of the frame.
