ZAZ – Je Veux

This is a music video, but there are a couple of things worth noting. The beginning of the video is actually the tail end of a song, then there is a cut to a close-up on the bass and then we are into the main song. We have moved from one location to another, with the same three people performing on a different street. After the first two or three shots, there is only one shot for the entire song. The camera moves, seems to be hand held, moving in for close-ups and then wider and featuring each member of the trio. Finally the camera goes around behind them so we see the audience gathered on the street to hear the musicians. The cut to a CU as a transition from one scene or place to another is a good technique. And I find the single shot for the song to work really well. Of course, I do like the song so that might have something to do with it.
