Food Blog entry 1
For my first blog I decided to go to one of my favorite places to eat in Eugene – The Afghani cuisine and German sausage food cart. Located perfectly in Kersey Square on the cross streets of Willamette and Broadway, this food cart always has quite the crowd. The little blue cart right on the corner sells both German and Afghani cuisine however I’ve only ever tried the German sausage options. I highly recommend the Bratwurst, which comes with mustard and a delicious sourdough bun. The cart has a bunch of different hot sauce options sitting out and I always top my bratwurst off with a couple drops of Tapatio right on the inside of the bun. I’ve also gotten the opportunity to try the Feta Spinach Chicken and the Rindswurst, but the simple Bratwurst is definitely my go-to. The presentation of each dish is very simple and good for on-the-go consumption. The sausages are very easily eaten by hand and always cooked to perfection. I often head over here for a quick, cheap and satisfying lunch and am always greeted with a friendly smile and quick service. I have not yet had the opportunity to try the currywurst but after trying the delicious currywurst in class, I will have to see how it compares. My favorite part of going to this food cart is how often I hear the owner say, “same thing today?” as he is serving his regulars. People come back time and time again for this delicious cuisine and for blaringly obvious reasons, too.
