Club Sport Funding

Club sports give students the chance to compete at a high level without the competition and dedication of a university funded team. There was been an ongoing debate to weather or not schools should be funding club sports. The controversy is over the importance of these club sports and how it affect students. Club sports provide students with the leadership and competitive edge needed in the real worlds; a skill that is hard to learn without being a part of a competitive team. Some argue that because of these positive characteristics, the university should be funding these sports, like they do with the Division 1 teams, while others say that because these sports bring in substantially less revenue for the school that it is not important.
