Journal 3: Reading Response to “The Art of Science” by Chris Palmer

I am inspired by the seemingly unanimous notion among these scientists that art and science are innately interdependent. I found all of the art works and their scientific contexts fascinating, however the two pieces that sparked my interest the most were the ones focusing on neuroscience. I have always been interested in the brain, and the complex ways in which it functions, so it is very intriguing to see a visual representation of neural pathways. Knowing that we have a neuroscience program and a human anatomy lab here at the U of O, I am extremely curious about any artistic neuroscience visuals that may be in the process of creation here. I definitely want to learn more about neural function and connections in the human brain, and the different potential ways that brain waves can be visually represented.
