The most impressive novel in my life is a Chinese novel called “Never-flower in Never-dream”. It is written by a very famous Chinese writer called Guo Jingming.
The writer is the most famous, and the richest writer, especially liked by young people. Each novel he writes attracts large amounts of readers. In most of his novels, he writes about the lives among young people, and gives some suggestions of life value to young people.
In the novel “Never-flower in Never-dream”, he writes about a girl’s change after lots of things happen such as her family, her love, her friendship and so on.
In his novel, There is one sentence giving me the deepest impression, which is “One person has to go on a strange road, see a strange sight, and hear a strange song, and in an inadvertent moment, you will find that you will forget the things that you once wanted to forget.”
It is a kind of sadness, and even it is sorrowful, it is the truth. When people grow up, they have to give up lots of things even the things are their favourite, and at that time, they may think they will remember it for the whole life. However, during the step of growth, you will find that something really important in the past becomes passing clouds. people have to pay more attentions on the current things, and with the increasing of the age, people will have more responsibilities to undertake. Because in the past, you just need to care about yourself, your emotions, your feelings; however, in the future, you have to take care of your wife or husband, your parents, your sons or daughters, and these people will make you forget lots of things that you really cared about in the past. It is the value of life, and life is that know more, care more, and give up more.
Hi, Sasha, I am very impressed by your article above. The most touched part is the paragraph that you talk about why people will give up their dream and have to take care of their family. There is an old saying that:”When God closes one door he opens another.” When we grow up, we will have to accept new change in our life. For example, your husband and children. However,when you think you are give up something, at the same time, you also receive some thing. I don’t think you can measure the value of your past dream or your family, but I know their are something is important than a person’s dream, which is love. When you love your family, you will have to make sacrifice for them. There are numerous woman who used to a “superwoman.” They are also better than man in some work area. However, when they become a mother or a wife, they will have to take care of her family because of her love.
The novel which can make people think deeply is also an art work. According to the reading,the author Dissnayake,E.(1991), he states that art is psychological and emotional need and also has psychological and emotional effects. Do you think that the novel has influence for people’s attitude for their life? How can you use reading to be a positive way to improve your sentiment in your life?
For my understanding of Guo’s sentence, it set the situation as when one was experience another kind of life style, it is seeing new picture, new people and if you pay all your attention to one thing, you may forgot something you once want to forgot. For example, when one watch a movie, they may get into the slot of the movie and the movie make a new environment for them which appeal their thought, it is temporally let them forgot what they remembered and it maybe include important things or not. But after the movie, they get back to the reality, they comes to remember what they have experienced. When we grow up, we may forgot our favorite toys but once we see the picture or some child playing the same toy as we were young, it may remain us to feel about our childhood. When it comes people’s emotion, someone get hurt and wants to forget what they want, they may choose another place to live, they may choose another lifestyle, because many things can remind them with what they dislike.
