Welcome to my Eportfolio! My name is Linkun Fu, and I am a senior student at the University of Oregon, majoring in Accounting at Lundquist College of Business. In this main page of my Eportfolio, you will find my personal information, as well as my shot-term and long-term career goals and related academic and practical experiences throughout four yeas of college life. There are also four sub-pages along with my Eportfolio: 1) Professional Communication, 2) Emotional Intelligence, 3) Leadership Skills, and 4) Team Collaboration. The purpose of having my Eportfolio is to record, share, and demonstrate my core academic competencies and leadership development learned throughout one of the most challenging class, BA-352 “Communication and leadership”.
As an international student, I intended to came to the U.S. to receive a better education. I lived in China for twenty years, and I have seen many low-income working families who face a great deal of food and housing hardships; I know how much those people need and want to be educated on how to take their personal responsibilities. And this is one of the most important reason why I study business.
Throughout my undergraduate education and beyond the receipt of my master’s degree, my goal in pursuing advanced study of accounting is to use my skills and knowledge, which I will learn from Lundquist College of Business to help people who do not know how to take their personal financial responsibilities.
I have the ability to not only perform what is asked of me, but to reach above and beyond any set expectations. By being closely involved with every aspect of a good accounting student, I worked and studied exceptionally hard for my pre-business courses (GPA 3.98) and upper division courses (GPA 3.58).
However, as I was taking the BA-352, one of the most challenging courses at LCB, I have realized that the lack of communication and leadership skills really become an obstacle and barrier to my future success. A good GPA and comprehensive knowledge in Accounting will not help me achieve my goals in the future, I must also have a comprehensive communication and leadership skills to back up my knowledge learned in Accounting. Throughout four sub-pages in my Eportfolio, I will share with you how I learned communication and leadership in a great detail.
