Although it is a celebrated day for many, reentry into society after incarceration can impose many challenges and hardships for formerly-incarcerated persons. Many people are released and lack the support system to succeed. They may also face discrimination when applying for jobs, and may lack renters history when looking for housing. Unfortunately, there are limited resources available to help with reentry, but when offered, they can make all the difference.
There are organizations, such as Sponsors in Eugene, Oregon, which assist people in their release from prison. They provide all of the necessary assistance to help these people succeed. The organization provides living, help finding a job and with obtaining a drivers license. It is programs such as Sponsors that are helping people turn their life around.
