Schnitzer Cinema: Hardcore Home Movies with curators Bradford Noreen and Clara Lopez Menendez of the Dirty Looks Collective

7:00 PM

This radically fun and eclectic collection of queer film and video works, draws from punk and queercore archives and includes works by Jonesy, Jill Reiter, G.B. Jones and Greta Snider, in addition to unearthing recent finds and lesser- known titles. Bradford Nordeen launched Dirty Looks as a monthly platform for queer experimental film and video in 2011 and has brought it to a variety of venues, from film festivals and museums to rooftops and unlikely social spaces in New York and on the West Coast. Here’s more information.

Sketching at the JSMA

Join us this Sunday at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art to sketch! We’ll meet at 11:00 at the front desk. Bring a pencil; pens are not allowed in the upstairs galleries.

JSMAC Sketchbook Prompt: Do an art critique or analysis of a work that you are drawn to in the museum. First spend a few minutes just looking. Sketch the artwork, then write your comments or a reflection. Why were you drawn to the particular artwork? What did you see that intrigued you? What meaning can you gather? What formal elements do you see and how do they convey meaning?
