Hello everyone, my name is David Xiang. I’m a junior majoring in Japanese Culture intensive. I chose Japanese as my major since I’m interested in many things related to Japan. I like Japanese foods, animates, TV dramas, video games, and music. There is a very cool band called “back number” in Japan and I almost listen to their songs every day. If you want to practice your Japanese a little bit through Japanese music, you should definitely check this band out.

The reasons why I’m taking this class are that it is my major requirement and that I think linguistics is a topic which I would learn more about since I’ve learned English as my second language, and am trying to learn Japanese with English. After I finished the college in the U.S., I would like to study in Japan as a graduate student, so I want to learn about Japanese language as much as I can.

I have many hobbies such as playing soccer, music, video games (League, FIFA, Forza), watching animates and drama, and singing. Just like Japan, there are many Karaoke stores in China, and I would always go there with my friends. When I get lots of time, I would also spend times on cooking and learning knowledges about 中華料理 and 日本料理.
