Self-Intro

はじめまして。

My name is Seiji (誠治) and I am a senior majoring in Japanese, with a focus in linguistics. This is a very important core course for me, so that’s why I am in this class.

I’ve been studying Japanese at the college level since 2014, but I’ve been exposed to the language my whole life and did learn some initially as a child.

My father’s family is based in-and-around Tokyo and only my eldest cousin’s wife speaks any English, so I felt like I really needed to step up my fluency. My personal motivation that keeps me going in Japanese is feeling constantly irked that I can’t read fluently, and wanting to get to know my grandmother better (she is 87).

My hobbies are mostly music production/guitar/composition, comedy (enjoying it, writing it, and making dumb comics), video games, and hanging out with friends.
