While watching this episode of food wishes, I thought of the discussion question of food being art. This video definitely posed the question at hand based on the way that the food was being prepared. Half way through the video there is a moment where all the ingredients are inside of one bowl. While those ingredients are inside of the bowl, they make the dish look beautiful or for better words aesthetically pleasing. Each ingredient is major to the overall dish that is why I believe that food is art. Even the way that John Grilling makes the dish, I noticed that he takes his time with each step of the process. I believe that preparing a meal is something that is special to each and every person. Personally, my family makes gumbo a little different then John, but I also know other cultures that make it different as well. However, food is what brings different cultures together, and that is why I now want to create the same recipe as John Grilling. The image that is displayed at the end of the film shows the perfection that goes into preparing food. There is definitely an art to cooking and that is displayed in the way that John moves from each ingredient. The food wish channel is something that I have now discovered and it is now something that will always be with me. Now that I know more about food and the food wish channel I would like to start my own food channel. It will most likely not be viewed as much John Grilling’s food wish channel but I will try me best.
