My submission for the Data Visualization assignment shows the most popular types of Snapchats received by University of Oregon students during the week of May 12th.  I compared the Snapchats I received with a surveymonkey poll I created and 93 University of Oregon students responded to.  I felt that the easiest way to translate these categories of Snapchats would be to group them and distribute my results along a horizontal axis labeled MTWThFSatSun, followed with the poll results on a secondary axis beneath. Because this is a project that relies on visuals, I included a small thumbnail-like image above each category to help communicate the idea of the category described.  In the corner is the Snapchat logo, which is easily recognizable and gives viewers an idea of what the data visualization will be about before reading further.

What I concluded from this project is that my Snapchat experience often lines up with those around me.  I decided that this is because the bulk of the people I asked to participate in my survey are in the Greek community.  Overall, this was an interesting project because it showed me the similarities and differences between my Snapchat experience and other U of O students’ experience.
