Unfortunately, in recent years, there has been a flurry of school shootings in the United States. There are some experts who have alluded to the fact that the realistic nature of some video games, or first-person shooters, have contributed to these shootings. Video game graphics are fantastic. Sports games have unreal graphics and first-person shooters, such as Call of Duty do as well. However, are they too real? Do people get consumed by these shooters and get bored? When this boredom reaches its tipping point, do they venture out into the real world to satisfy their needs? Grand Theft Auto is a popular video game that involves violence at every turn. Excessive video game users may lose interest in the video game and attempt to recreate the video game in real life. This is a slippery slope because normal video game users are calling for more realistic gameplay, but is there more damage done with creating too realistic of graphics and gameplay?
