The End of The Dub Nation?

What should an NBA top ranked team handle crisis when two of the stars go off on each other? Who should have the ball when score is tied in last few seconds on Golden State Warriors? Golden State Warriors, a basketball team locates in San Francisco, Calif., have won multiple times NBA championships in past few years. Basketball fans are all discussing who would play against the Warriors this year at the finals. However, things may not go as expected…

It’s too obvious that Kevin Durant was extremely upset when Draymond did not pass him the ball when only few seconds left at the game, and Draymond had a turnover made it even worse. It is reported that Draymond Green, who is one of the stars on the Warriors, has used derogatory words towards Kevin Durant. Few words were exchanged between two stars before going to the overtime, and it finally got the GM and Coach’s attention that Draymond went way too far, which was considered “detrimental” to the team, so he got suspended.

There were arguments among basketball community in terms of Draymond’s suspension, that Kevin Durant should not disrespect Draymond Green because Draymond has won two titles without Durant’s present on the Warriors. Whereas some basketball fans believe what Warriors have done to Draymond showed a clear preference, which may cause one of two stars leaving during the summer. On the other hand, some say that Draymond should respect Kevin Durant more and pass him the ball in last few seconds because he’s arguably the best player on the Warriors, perhaps when Steph Curry is not on the court.

Maybe there was tension between these two stars before the incident. According to Stephen A. Smith, Draymond Green definitely crossed the line when he questioned about Kevin Durant’s “commitment” to Warriors and Draymond Green would not stop saying derogatory phrases when Kevin Durant tried to get ready for the overtime game. So, according to Stephen A. Smith, maybe it is Draymond that was unprofessional and crossed the line. Or “deserved” to be suspended.

After the incident, Draymond Green told the media that he and Kevin Durant have spoke and decided to move forward. However, interestingly, here’s what Draymond said: “I have read a lot about how, ‘Is this the end of the run?’ or ‘Is it over?’ or ‘Did I ruin it?’ or ‘Did I force Kevin to leave?'” Green said. “You know, at the end of the day, as I’ve said before, whatever Kevin decides to do, whatever Klay [Thompson] decides to do, whatever who decides to do, we had great years together and I support everybody wholeheartedly, 100 percent. Because as a man, as a human being, you got the right to do what you want with your life. So I will never question that.”

Even the reason he brought out Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson’s plan after this season with the Warriors was unclear, but he still should not mention that at all because that would potentially brought more rumors. Instead of having fans focusing on this season, the fans may overthink what Draymond Green really meant by his statements. Will the Dub Nation still exist for next season? Perhaps time will tell the answer.
