Odell Beckham Jr., wide receiver for the New York Giants, finds himself in the news yet again following the remarks he made about his quarterback Eli Manning.
A little over a week ago, during an interview with ESPN reporter Josina Anderson, when asked if Manning was the problem for New York’s recent struggles, Beckham responded with saying “I don’t know.”
As of today, John Mara, owner of the New York Giants, responded to reporters regarding the interview with Anderson saying that Beckham “needs to do a little more playing and a little less talking” and he wishes he could “create the headlines by his play on the field as opposed to what he says and what he does off the field.”

Michael Thomas, defensive back, also commented with saying, “I have no issue with somebody trying to hold teammates accountable.”
The response made by the Giants owner seems to be out of place and was not at all needed. if players are respecting Beckham’s comments, it might be best to leave the issue as it is and have the situation die down. Mara’s recent comments will only continue to fuel the issue at hand while keeping it in the spotlight, and ultimately, cause more drama between the organization as a whole.
Beckham’s response has made national news around the National Football League and the lasting impact continues to be shown. The remarks made by Beckham and Mara have not only made a national headline, but there’s a possibility it has affected the players, coaching staff and even the fans.
